The vast majority of farmers in the Marcala, Comsa region of Honduras are of Lenca (indigenous) roots. Although the language is lost, many of the traditional agricultural techniques have been maintained. This has led to one of the most sophisticated organic production systems among coffee-producing co-ops in Central America. They are leaders in promoting organic agriculture and play a key role in training and educating other fair trade and organic co-ops throughout the region.

Thread is excited to highlight a coffee this month that has a nice full, chocolatey body with a smooth finish. (Plus, it’s one of our customers’ favorites!)
