Coffee chaff, the outer layer of the coffee bean shed during roasting, may seem like a minor detail, but to us, it represents a chance to make a difference. By diverting this nutrient-rich byproduct from landfills, we’re not only minimizing waste but also enriching the local soil through our partnership with the Farm Alliance. Chaff makes for a great addition to compost!
Burlap sacks, which traditionally serve as vessels for transporting our coffee beans, undergo a remarkable transformation in local farms and gardens. Instead of discarding these sturdy sacks, we donate them to the Farm Alliance of Baltimore for a multitude of eco-friendly projects, particularly in community gardens.
