Writer, editor, lover, fighter, friend of the oppressed, enemy of the oppressors – Alexander Berkman occupied many different positions as a free-wheeling 20th century Anarchist, always in search of true progress, of a manner of engaging the world that left it better in his wake, an endless and lifelong quest that took him around the world. We don’t know how Berkman took his coffee but this one is perfect for long debates on hopeful nights.Berkman’s Blend is a worker’s favorite at Red Emma’s, made from a blend of Bolivian AIPEP and Ethiopian SCFCU, this coffee is full, earthy and smooth.

Print Studio Blend

Screen_shot_2014-11-29_at_1.48.06_pmBaltimore Print Studios is a letterpress and screen printing, public-access print studio in Charm City, MD. Together with Thread Coffee, we’ve created this custom coffee blend which is dark and mild, with low acidity. The Printer’s Devil was the nickname for the young shop assistant employed in large print shops. A century ago, a good shop couldn’t function without a printer’s devil. Today a good strong cup of Printer’s Devil keeps us running, too!

BROS Blend: Grundle’s Grind

Ethiopian • Nicaraguan • Columbian

Bros_threadlabelsThe Baltimore Rock Opera Society and Thread Coffee are pleased to announce a new, three-origin “blood roast” coffee, “Gründle’s Grind”, a combination of Nicaraguan Cecocafen, Colombian Fondo Paez, and Ethiopian SCFCU beans.A special blend carefully sourced with pride by Thread from small farms and crafted in close collaboration with BROS, “Gründle’s Grind” is a coffee as delicious as it is metal, the first coffee to carry the moniker of “blood roast” as it defies traditional coffee categories with its amazing shredliness. Bold yet refined, this coffee was designed with BROS’ demanding energy requirements in mind, and Thread’s commitment to badass and delicious tasting coffee. Expect a coffee with the smoky-earth scent of a thousand smote enemies, a delicate chestnut finish, and if you listen closely, the whisper of pine forests.  What’s more, $1 from every bag purchased goes directly to supporting volunteer-run rock theater right here in Baltimore. In honor of this special collaboration, BROS and Thread have produced a special video on the creation of this coffee, which is both totally awesome and totally unnecessary.
