Thread Coffee, part of the Red Emma’s family of projects, has an opening for a part-time farmers market worker to join our coffee team and worker-owned cooperative! Responsibilities include running Thread’s market stand at the Catonsville Farmers’ Market, providing excellent customer service, serving and selling basic drinks,  baked goods, and of course, bags of Thread Coffee.

  • Loves customer service and marketing delicious, transparently-traded coffee
  • Works well independently, as markets are operated solo, but also enjoys the worker-cooperative dynamic.
  • Is able to work rain or shine, and doesn’t shy away from hard work
  • Has the ability to commit to both markets for the duration of the market season
  • Has a car to transport the farmers market setup

This is a part-time position for the duration of the market season, but has potential for growth and opportunity to become a part of our team long-term. Thread Coffee was founded in 2012, and opened up as the in-house roaster for Red Emma’s at the new location on North Avenue in 2013. Thread Coffee works to create relationships directly with farmers, ensuring that producers receive a just price for their beans, and that their coffee is grown in a way that’s good for both the environment and the culture.

Jobs at Thread Coffee and Red Emma’s start at an hourly wage of $11/hour, and increase with the cumulative number of hours worked. Interested?
